Why doesn’t my car properly go into gear anymore?

Have you ever come across a situation where you are driving around Dubai and find that you cannot shift your car gears properly? There are a few things that could be causing this problem. In such a situation, most people immediately begin to consider major transmission problems. It can be the result of a simple mistake. Instead of inspecting it yourself, you can always take it to an auto repair shop where your car will be repaired and returned to its original condition.

Here are some of the reasons why your car is not shifting properly:

1. Low transmission fluid

One of the main reasons your car isn't shifting properly could be that your car is running out of transmission fluid. While car services are checking, there may be other reasons why it is low. Your fluid may be leaking or low and this is causing your car to have transmission problems. Gear oil is important to ensure that the moving parts of your car are properly lubricated and cooled. If you are stuck on a Dubai street without access to auto repair shops, you can check yourself if the transmission fluid level is low. Finding your rod location should be easy. Remove, clean, replace, and then remove the dipstick again. The level, odor and color of the liquid must be controlled. If there isn't much, try adding a little gear oil. You can have your car towed to a licensed transmission specialist if you notice a burning smell or a black or dark brown tint.

2. Electronic sensors

Today there are no cars in Dubai without an electric sensor. Although car repairs may be needed as usual, electrical car sensors are more of a blessing than a curse. The solenoids that actuate the valves in the valve body cannot function if the machine's electronic HV selector (ECM) does not indicate that it is running. Several slow downshifts from park to low can help eliminate corrosion on switch contacts and get you back on the road. Electronic diagnosis of the transmission should be left to the transmission experts.

3. Bad couplings

If you feel that your equipment is not working properly, you may be driving through Dubai with worn clutches. If your vehicle's transmission stops responding, you may have worn out the clutches. The clutch consists of friction discs and steel plates. The plates gradually wear out so that proper pressure cannot be exerted on the planetary gears that decide which gear you are in. If the transmission fluid level is correct but the transmission slips, the clutch kit will almost certainly need to be replaced. The engine revs when a transmission slips, but the car doesn't shift in sync with it.

Transmission components, like any other moving part, would gradually wear out. You can extend the life of your transmission by performing routine maintenance. Make sure your gearbox is flushed at the manufacturer's prescribed intervals.
